VR Lively is the first commercially available 3D virtual reality streaming platform for real-time video calling. Our proprietary technology is web based and requires no additional software installation, complex configuration or expensive hardware. You do not even need to own a virtual reality headset to begin broadcasting in true 3D VR.

The broadcaster connects the stereoscopic camera (provided) into the USB port of their PC or Mac computer, configures the camera by logging into their vrlively.in account and selects ‘begin broadcasting’. The URL provided is a secure session link which is shared with the viewer which then automatically begins broadcasting in 3D VR. Our support team will be available should you require any assistance in configuration.

Stereoscopy refers to the technique of capturing images and rendering them as three-dimensional, with a realistic depth. Stereoscopic video is created by overlapping the same image, but offsetting it by a couple of inches. This simulates human eyes and the way they work. Stereoscopic cameras contain more than one lens, each with their own seperate image sensor or frame. The most important factor in 3D stereoscopic images is the creation of proper depth, foreground, background and zero parallax.

There are certain variable factors when streaming 3D video, processor speed, graphics power and bandwidth. For the broadcaster, we recommend 2x USB 3.0 ports, 4GB RAM, i7 processor and an upload speed of at least 8Mbps for optimum performance. In order of user experience, we support Oculus Rift & HTC Vive, Gear VR, Android Daydream and Google Cardboard. Supported browsers are Chrome Download, Chromium Download and Chrome Canary Download.

Through our partnership with one of the leading providers of depth and motion sensing technology for VR/AR and autonomous robotics, for we are able to offer a level of depth and immersion usually only found with professional VR ‘rigs’ costing upwards of $10,000. Our specialised camera is a dual 4MP (2K 3D Video), it is the World’s fastest depth camera, capturing 1080p HD video and 30 FPS or WVGA at 100fps with a wide field of view (16:9 native sensors) and ultra sharp 6 element all glass lenses and depth range of 0.5 - 20 m. ƒ/2.0 aperture.

Yes. We can configure VRLively to support any UVC compatible stereoscopic cameras. We tested all major camera manufacturers as a comparison but found our preferred camera outperformed other devices on all benchmarks.

A standard 360 video is just a flat equirectangular video displayed on a sphere. Think of it like the face of a world map on a globe, but with VR your head is on the inside of the globe looking at the inner surface. Although suitable for certain applications this is not a 3 dimensional image and not true Virtual Reality. Stereoscopic 3D adds depth data between the foreground and background by sending seperate streams to each eye, transports you into in a virtual environment, tricking your brain by creating the illusion that you are actually in the scene, or ‘immersion’.

Some 360° cameras provide an equirectangular output, and it is best to format for VR content. In the case of the stereoscopic camera, VR Lively app itself creates equirectangular output by de-fishing the camera output. In a case where camera manufacturer by defaults provide the equirectangular output then it is better to use that ( stitching effects will be minimal). For example, Ricoh Theta provides the equirectangular output with the help of theta UVC blender. Uncheck this setting unless you are using such a device.

Sony, Google, Apple, Samsung, HTC are just some of the big names backing what is set to become a $120bn industry by 2020. As the adoption of Virtual Reality increases so in turn will the number of services and applications. For an initial investment of $500 your business can stay ahead of the competition and technology curve by interacting with your customers in an exciting new way. From inbound sales enquiries, account management, product demonstrations or just a seat at the boardroom table, VR Lively gives your business an unquestionable competitive edge for the equivalent cost of a photocopier maintenance contract.

VR calling is not intended as a direct replacement for video calling due to the requirement of an HMD (Head mounted display), although there are some significant advantages over webcam to webcam calling. Webcam calling is really only designed for one person due to the limited FOV (field of vision). BeVirtual’s camera has a significantly higher visual range, affording the viewer a visual representation of the entire room and not just at whatever a single sense camera is pointing at. Furthermore and by definition, that extra dimension puts the person at the table, not on the screen. The difference between VR and non VR video calling is as significant a difference to VR and non VR video gaming. An incomparable and far more engaging experience.

As with any new technology, individuals and businesses will create their own innovative applications, currently our customer base includes recruitment consultancies, sales offices, advertising agencies, financial organisations and technology companies. With VR the only boundaries are your imagination. If you own a VR headset and would like a demonstration please mail us at info@tantransha.com
